Hi, I'm Kam Ostwald, and I'm the heart and hands behind True North Floral.

Growing up in Mason City, I saw firsthand how small communities are the backbone of Iowa. I knew I wanted to create a business that serves these towns and after moving to Thompson in 2021, our family did shaved ice for a couple summers but the “staff” has all grown and moved on. With a love for flowers, creating arrangements and farming them, I decided I wanted to rejuvenate a floral business with the same quality and care that floral shops used to have.

Delivering arrangements that feature flowers grown right here in Iowa (at least until winter hits) is a dream. Being a mobile florist, I get to travel throughout Winnebago County and even some surrounding areas. There's something special about knowing the people who help grow the flowers, understanding the seasons they work with, and being part of a community that values local agriculture. If we can give more opportunity to local or even US growers, well…I don’t have to tell you the benefits!

Every bouquet I create supports not just your celebration or sentiment, but also hardworking farmers who dedicate their lives to growing beautiful blooms. That connection – from farmer to florist to you – is what makes True North Floral different.

Whether I'm creating a simple bouquet to brighten someone's Monday or designing flowers for a funeral, I pour the same care and attention into every arrangement. Because in small towns, we're not just customers and vendors – we're neighbors, and that means something.
